Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, for example, has spent more than $200,000 to support his new website along with Facebook and Twitter accounts, according to interviews and a Times review of documents obtained through the state Public Records Act.

The disgusting taste in my mouth are the supervisors in LA who use at their will their $34 million to do whatever they like to do. Funny how this dude is up for reelection this year. You might ask me, “$200,000 for a really successful website seems justifiable.” Here is my rebuttal:

In its first four months, Yaroslavsky’s new site had 19,000 unique visitors.

The daily tally appears to be half what it was before the makeover. Yaroslavsky deputy Joel Sappell said the drop-off is due to a change in the way visitors are counted. As of Wednesday afternoon, Yaroslavsky had 138 fans on Facebook and 70 followers on Twitter. Sappell, a former Times editor who heads the effort and other special projects, earns a salary of $142,000, plus benefits.

He recently got a 5.5% raise.

Meanwhile, department heads’ salaries are frozen.

Are you kidding me? 19,000 unique visitors, 138 fans on facebook and 70 followers on twitter?

I hope these supervisors can evaluate their job duties and try to provide jobs as i know that the unemployment rate in CA is 11.2%. Or better yet, do some internal evaluations and start running stuff efficiently.

While going to UCLA there were definitely a difference of the women from north campus to south campus. North campus is where all the liberal arts and more emotional type of degrees were but south campus was where all the math and logical degrees were studied. A friend told me that any decent looking girl who was a south campus girl would get everything done for her. Meaning you could probably find guys who would help you with your work. But, if you were 9 – 10 hot you could pretty much coast your way to a electrical engineer degree because you could piggyback on any overachieving male student. (BTW, I was implying that all the hot girls were on north campus.)

Why do I bring this up? I took one look at this photo and the first thing that came in to my mind was that she probably didn’t study too hard to be computer engineer. I might be wrong, but my experiences and also friend’s experience tell me this is sadly true. So, I sit here confused on what I’m suppose to think of this.

Fun fact: I believe there are more female computer engineers than male social workers. Just my two cents.
